We need and use water for many different activities like, drinking, flushing the toilet, taking a shower, cooking, transportation, watering plants and so on. Without water, human beings and plants would suffer a great deal. Earths 70% is covered with water and 75% of our body is made up of water. Well then, what is water? I will talk about the properties of water. Water can be shown in three different states of matter: liquid, solid and gas. Liquid water can be found in many areas. We can see liquid water when it rains, when we drink water, ride a boat at hangang. Snow and ice are examples of water in solid form. Solid form of water is less dense than the liquid form, thus solid form like ice is able to float in liquid water. Liquid waters freezing point is 0 degrees Celsius. Other examples of solid water are icicles, the skating rink and ice cubes. Water evaporates and becomes the invisible gaseous state. when the matters of water change, the physical properties change, but the chemical properties do not. Water is a chemical substance and its formula is H20. which means it consists of two positive charged hydrogen atoms bonded with one negative charged oxygen atom. Because the oxygen atom has higher electro negativity than hydrogen atoms, it carries a negative charge. That is why water is a polar molecule and results in surface tension.   Hazelhurst Regional Gallery & Arts Centre is proud to present Arthur McIntyre: Bad Blood 1960-2000, a survey of the work of the unheralded and often misunderstood Australian artist Arthur McIntyre (1945-2003). Spanning four decades, and comprised of loaned work from major collections and his estate, Bad Blood reveals Arthur McIntyre's steadfast obsession with and compassion for the volatility of the human condition. It also makes known the rigour, discipline and fastidious technique of his work. Hazelhurst Regional Gallery is proud to realise Bad Blood as a major partnership with Macquarie University Art Gallery, where a companion 'work on paper' exhibition will be concurrently presented. Dispersed over both venues is a selection of important works that plot key stylistic shifts within his extensive oeuvre. Though some work from the early 1960s is included, Bad Blood mostly comprises work from the seventies, reflecting the time McIntyre came to public prominence as an artist. Works such as the Slide Series, Aquamarine and Cloudy Day Feeling reveal the influence of abstract expressionism and signal his interest in depicting an ominous sense that humanity could be overtaken by the chaos of our natural world. Blood -- so necessary for survival, so intrinsic to our decay -- recurs in his work in the last decade he made art through a frenzied use of paint.   Edward Sheriff Curtis ~1868~1952 was a photographer of the American West and of Native American peoples. In 1906 JP Morgan offered Curtis $75000 to produce a series on the North American Indian. It was to be in 20 volumes with 1500 photographs. Morgan was to receive 25 sets and 500 original prints as his method of repayment. 222 complete sets were eventually published. Curtis' goal was not just to photograph, but to document, as much American Indian (Native American) traditional life as possible before that way of life disappeared. He wrote in the introduction to his first volume in 1907: "The information that is to be gathered ... respecting the mode of life of one of the great races of mankind, must be collected at once or the opportunity will be lost." Curtis made over 10000 wax cylinder recordings of Indian language and music. He took over 40000 photographic images from over 80 tribes. He recorded tribal lore and history, and he described traditional foods, housing, garments, recreation, ceremonies, and funeral customs. He wrote biographical sketches of tribal leaders, and his material, in most cases, is the only recorded history. He also is known to have paid natives to pose in staged scenes, wear historically inaccurate dress and costumes, dance and partake in simulated ceremonies..Of the full Curtis opus N.   Helen Levitt "Street Life"...
  Helen Levitt (August 31, 1913 March 29, 2009) was an American photographer. She was particularly noted for "street photography" around New York City, and has been called "the most celebrated and least known photographer of her time." Levitt grew up in Brooklyn. Dropping out of high school, she taught herself photography while working for a commercial photographer. While teaching some classes in art to children in 1937, Levitt became intrigued with the transitory chalk drawings that were part of the New York children's street culture of the time. She purchased a Leica camera and began to photograph these works, as well as the children who made them. The resulting photographs were ultimately published in 1987 as In The Street: chalk drawings and messages, New York City 19381948. She associated with Walker Evans in 1938-39. In 1943, Edward Steichen curated her first solo exhibition "Helen Levitt: Photographs of Children" at the Museum of Modern Art. She subsequently began to find press work as a documentary photographer. In 1959 and 1960, Levitt received two Guggenheim Foundation grants to take color photographs on the streets of New York, and she returned to still photography.In 1965 she published her first major collection, A Way of Seeing.Much of her work in color from the 1960s was stolen in a 1970 burglary of her East 13th Street apartment.
