Regardless of the situation, learning is ultimately the individual’s responsibility. Learning will not succeed unless the individual feels a strong sense of ownership and responsibility in the process itself. In all honesty, I have never put much thought into my particular learning style . However, since I decided to embark on a new challenge and opportunity by enrolling in graduate school, I have had to refocus my priorities amidst the everyday stresses

Lewis Faculty share "This I Be...Lewis Universitys Office of Mission, the Lasallian Vocation Council and the Writing Center led an effort on campus that encouraged faculty, staff and students to write their own This I Believe essays describing the core values that guide their daily lives. In addition to those shared on April 8, several essays will be read on April 21 during the second part of the project. On April 8, Lewis University students and faculty shared their This I Believe essays with the University community. Director of Arts and Ideas and professor of English Dr. Michael Cunningham read his essay on The Transforming Power of High School Cross Country. Theology major Kevin Magas read aloud his The Beauty of Nostalgia essay. Brother Armand Alcazar, FSC, associate professor of theology, shared his essay, The Wild Goose Chase. English major Jason Hess read his I Believe in the Power of Language essay. Dr. Laura Sloan, professor of education, shared her essay, I Believe That I Can Make A Difference. Therese Jones, assistant professor of English, shared her essay, The Value of Words and Language. Liberal Arts major Isabel Garcia, Lewis read her I Believe in All My Imperfections essay. And finally, English major Tonya Peterson read her essay entitled, I Used to Believe I Was Going to Hell Until I Actually Died. Over 60000 of these essays, written by people from all walks of life, are archived on the This I Believe website (www.thisibelieve.com), heard on public radio, chronicled through books and <b>...</b>
